The event, which witnessed robust participation from young pharmacists across the nation, was marked by a transparent and well-organized electoral process. Pharm. Tekena George emerged as the National Chairman with an impressive 213 votes, surpassing his closest rivals: Pharm. Life Ebong (161 votes), Pharm. Hope Onyemaechi (52 votes), and Pharm. Lucky Osarenkhoe (3 votes). Pharm. Sani Rapha Tachio was elected unopposed as National Vice Chairman, while Pharm. Daniel Akpan assumed the role of National Secretary, also unopposed. Other key positions were filled as follows: Assistant National Secretary: Pharm. Ariwodo Esther, unopposed. National Financial Secretary: Pharm. Martin Nwofia (194 votes), defeating Pharm. Peter Fieyobo (145 votes) and Pharm. Jubrin Yakubu (79 votes). National Treasurer: Pharm. Joy Bathram, unopposed. Editor-in-Chief: Pharm. David Friday. Public Relations Officer (PRO): Pharm. Precious Umoren (340 votes), ahead of Bello Bodunrin (82 votes). Regional Coordinators Elected North-East: Pharm. Kaigama Joseph. North-Central: Pharm. Obute A. Obute. South-West: Pharm. Adamolekun Tolulope. By-Election Results for Regional Coordinators To fill remaining regional coordinator positions, a by-election was conducted on November 28, 2024, via a virtual secret ballot system, adhering strictly to PSN-YPG byelaws. The results are as follows: North-West Regional Coordinator: Salihu Murtala Kabir (74 votes), defeating Gabriel Daria Gamaleon and Salim Ali Nuhu (3 votes each). South-East Regional Coordinator: Chidubem Vincent Nwalutum (80 votes). South-South Regional Coordinator: Paulinus Chukwuemeka Ike (80 votes). The by-election process was overseen by the 2024 PSN-YPG Electoral Committee, chaired by Akuroseokika Ellis Clinton, with Nkpe Godwin Ifoulimre as Secretary. The committee ensured transparency and strict adherence to electoral guidelines. A New Era of Service and Impact During his acceptance speech, Pharm. Tekena George expressed gratitude to members and reiterated his commitment to enhancing the value of young pharmacists. He declared, “By all means possible, we will give value to young pharmacists,” and outlined his administration’s mantra, Service and Impact, emphasizing inclusivity and collaboration. The newly elected Central Executive Council (CEC) held its inaugural meeting on November 7, 2024, focusing on strategies for impactful service and sustainable growth. Pharm. George urged members to carry out their duties with dedication, fostering professional excellence and innovation.
