Each year, 17th November 2024, marks the 4th anniversary of the global movement to eliminate CERVICAL CANCER . In 2020, 194 countries resolved to eliminate a cancer for the first time and WHO launched the Global strategy to eliminate cervical cancer as a public health problem with a global Day of Action for Cervical Cancer Elimination. Each year, advocates around the world continue the annual tradition, coming together as governments and partners make new commitments toward achieving the global strategy targets, which is to raise awareness and organize local activities to take action for elimination. For this year, we are rallying voices from around the world to recognize and uplift the contributions of frontline health workers providing lifesaving services to eliminate cervical cancer. All frontline health workers are encouraged to continue being at the forefront of efforts to prevent and treat cervical cancer. As leaders in the global movement, we will help shape the delivery of effective interventions to meet the needs of the WOMEN in our different communities.
